Blackwell Library brings back free summer food program
Blackwell Public Library’s summer meal program is returning this month, along with their annual Summer Reading Event.
The kick-off and sign-up drive for the Summer Reading activities program will be held Friday, May 24, at 2 pm on the library lawn and will feature a bounce house, music, free hotdogs and chips, and other games.
The Summer Feeding Program will begin again for the 2024 summer on Tuesday, May 28 at noon.
Every week, Monday through Friday from noon until 1 pm the library will serve free lunches to kids aged 18 and under. The meals must be consumed on the library grounds.
The lunch service is free of charge and was made possible by the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and Hunger Free Oklahoma.
A healthy Kay County requires great community news.
