Adolfo Calleja Sebrero

Adolfo Calleja Sebrero of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away on November 9, 2020, at the age of 74. He was born on August 7, 1946, in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Manuel Calleja Bode & Carlota (Sebrero) Calleja. He married his high school sweetheart, Maria Esther Vazquez, on April 2, 1968. Together they happily welcomed 2 daughters and 4 sons. Adolfo loved having a large family and was always extremely proud of his children. After working many years in Texas and Oklahoma's oil and agricultural industries, he enjoyed retirement on his small farm, where he raised a few cows and horses. He loved all animals, especially his dog Toby. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and leather tooling. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, enjoying a few beers, and sharing laughs.

Adolfo is survived by his wife, Maria Esther; 2 daughters, Patricia Rascon & husband Alvin of Blackwell, Mayra Franco of Moore; 4 sons, Adolfo Calleja & wife Gloria of Cleburne, TX, Carlos Calleja & wife Claudia of Blackwell, Miguel Calleja & husband Richard of Oklahoma City, and Jose Calleja & wife Jeana of Norman; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one on the way; and one sister, Marhta Carrillo & husband Ricardo of Chihuahua, Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel & Carlota; his brother, Manuel Calleja; two grandsons, Alvaro "Coya" Rascon and Alvin Omar Rascon; and a granddaughter, Jacqueline Franco.

Visitation was held on Friday, November 13, 2020, from 10:00, am to 8:30 pm at Lynlee Mae Chapel located at 507 E. Main Street in Moore, Oklahoma. The City of Moore does not have any current COVID restrictions in place. The funeral mass was on Saturday, November 14, 2020, at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Old Cathedral located at 307 NW 4th Street in Oklahoma City. Because of limited seating due to COVID restrictions in place for Oklahoma City, the family asks that immediate and extended Calleja family members take their seats before friends enter the church. Masks are required to be worn by all while inside of the church. Interment to follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery located at 7500 W. Britton Rd in Oklahoma City. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel in Moore, Oklahoma.
