Looking Back- Thinking Forward: Happy St. Patrick's

by Dayle McGaha

OPENING STATEMENT: A Good friend is like a four-leaf clover: hard to find and luck to have! Happy St. Pat’s Day Everyone!

It’s a rough year for many of us. Our country has been worried with 3 crises, all of which has affected every facet of our lives.

A cruel pandemic that has caused thousands of deaths and heartaches!
A long-term, serious economic melt-down.

One of the most critical political transitions in many years. The likes of which challenges fairness and equality! It has also taken a toll on common sense and goodness.

In the next few columns, I hope to give some good old-fashioned remedies to build back some common sense and feelings for our future, one hint: some words to help us fight stress.

PROVERBS: 1-23: “Turn to my reproof, behold, I will pour out my spirit on you. I will make my words known to you.”

DAYLE VERB: Make the “good ‘ole days” come back by speaking and acting positive to everyone.

PASTOR’S POINT: “Paybacks can be very costly if the original charge is bogus.”

NOTABLE QUOTE: “Truth has no special time of its own: it’s hour is now and always” (Albert Schweitzer)

POSITIVE POINT: All progress has resulted from people who took unpopular positions.

PRESIDENTIAL POINT: “We must adjust to changing times and still hold to unchanging principles” (Jimmy Carter)

CLOSING COMMENT: Are you still vigilant? There is still lots of people who are concerned about the safety of themselves and their loved ones. Will you still take precautions and do what is right to continue the fight against the COVID-19 issue?

P.S. Don’t forget the shut-ins and live alones!!!
