Patricia Calleja Rascon passed away Sunday, May 16th, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Enid. She was born on April 16th, 1969, to Adolfo Calleja and Maria Esther

Calleja (Vasquez) in Chihuahua, Mexico.

The oldest of six children, she took on a matriarchal role early in life. She was a woman of many talents and trades, a perpetual student of life. She possessed the ability to learn anything she set her mind to, frankly because she lacked the patience to wait for others to do it-- one of the many positive traits, that she instilled in her younger siblings, children, and grandchildren.

Patricia "Paty" attended grade school in Mexico until the age of 10 when she and her family came to the United States and made Guymon, Oklahoma, their home. She attended Guymon Middle and High School then furthered her education at Pioneer Technology Center in Ponca City.

In 1987, Patricia and the love of her life Alvaro (Alvin) Rascon welcomed their firstborn Alvin Rascon into the world and made their home in Blackwell. Their daughter Cassandra followed in 1990 and then, Patricia in 1993. Patricia and Alvaro were married in December of 1997.

Patricia had a zest for life. She was loyal, loving, and fun. She liked long drives, music, and the Oklahoma State Cowboys. She was a talented baker and an excellent dog groomer. She especially loved attending her grandchildrens’ baseball and softball games.

She was so proud of her family, and they knew they were loved very much, even her dog, Zoe Zoe.

She is survived by her mother Maria Esther Calleja of Blackwell, her daughter Cassandra Rascon Gutierrez and husband Julio Cesar Gutierrez of Ponca City; daughter Patricia and husband Zach Trantham of Ponca City; son Aaron Rascon, and daughter Adrianna Rascon. She is also survived by siblings Adolfo Calleja Jr. and wife Gloria of Cleburne TX, Carlos Calleja and wife Claudia of Blackwell, Miguel Calleja and husband Richard of Oklahoma City, Jose Calleja and wife Jeana of Norman, OK, and Mayra Franco (Calleja) of Moore, OK. She also leaves behind 8 granddaughters, 7 grandsons, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She is preceded in death by sons Alvin Rascon and Alvaro Rascon Jr., daughter Alma Rascon, an unborn grandchild, her father Adolfo Calleja, Sr., niece Jaqueline Franco, paternal grandparents Manuel and Carlotta Calleja, and maternal grandparents Teodosio and Genoveva Vasquez

A memorial fund has been set up in her name at BancFirst in Blackwell, Oklahoma.
