Norma Jones

July 14, 2021

Norma June Daggs Jones passed peacefully from this life into eternal life with her Lord and Savior on July 5, 2021 at Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home at the age of 92 years. She was born December 6, 1928 in Blackwell, OK to William Reginald Daggs and Gladys Louise Daggs. She grew up in Blackwell and attended Blackwell schools where she graduated in 1946. Norma moved out of state in 1956 returning to Oklahoma in 1960 settling in Sasakwa. Over the course of these years Norma was richly blessed with a blended family of eleven children all of whom knew her as mom.

Norma loved to whistle, sing, play the piano and organ. She had the most beautiful melodic whistle. Norma faithfully attended church with her children and grandchildren while serving when and where she was needed.  She was a praiseworthy homemaker and served her family tirelessly.

In 1995, Norma returned to Blackwell and enjoyed her years as a caregiver until her retirement. She enjoyed sewing, cross stitch, and flower gardening. Norma aspired to always have a beautiful inviting yard. You could often find her basking in the sun. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Norma was a member of First Baptist Church of Blackwell, sang in the choir, served as Secretary for the Gleaners Sunday school class and was a favorite contributor to any church potluck dinner. She will be remembered for her positive and encouraging spirit, her kind words and willingness to be of service.

Norma is survived by her sister; Connie F. Oltermann, six children; Roy W. Adams of Blackwell and wife Debi, Rebecca J. Adams of Blackwell, Linda M. Davis of Irving, Tx, Glenda L. Emerson of Ponca City, LaDonna G. Morrell of Sand Springs, and J. Paul Jones of Sasakwa and wife Cathy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother, Torrence Daggs, her brother, Harold V. Daggs, her sister, Jamie F. Perry, sons Stephen H. Adams, Marion M. Jones, Earl W. Jones, Jackie L. Jones, daughter A. Joyce Harris, grand-baby Morrell, granddaughters Adeline A. Jones and Nikki D. Adams, grandsons Cary D. Jones and Eric G. Thompson. She leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, and 24 great-great-grandchildren to cherish her memory.
