Michael Shawn Spracklin

On July 11, 2021, Michael Shawn Spracklin went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Mike was born October 31, 1955, to Kenneth G. Spracklin and Kathy Perrigo in Sacramento CA. Mike moved to Blackwell with his dad early in life. He attended Blackwell Schools, graduating in 1973. Mike went on to OSU and earned his degree in Entomology. He entered the pest control business and was highly successful owning two of his own companies.

Mike held offices in the Oklahoma Board of Entomology. He was a teacher of many things and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with anyone and everyone. Another profession he had was shooting pool, which he was very skilled at. Mike met Lana Stout in 1990 and they were married shortly after. He spent the next 30 years of his life taking care of his family. Another love of his life was wrestling. He taught it and lived it with his son and all members of the Blackwell Wrestling Club. Mike was an avid sports fan. Mike is survived by 4 children, K.C. (Stevie) Spracklin, Samantha Spracklin, Amanda McCurry, and Andrew McCurry.

Mike has nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and one brother Ronald C. Spracklin. Mike acquired a second family in December of 2018. Bill and Cookie Stone welcomed Mike into their family and home. He was not in the best of health but was a wonderful addition to the family. Mike was extraordinarily strong in his faith and made sure that grace was said before every meal no matter where we were. Mike was also survived by his chosen family, Bill and Cookie Stone, Anni Payne, Emily Hromas, Will Stone, Toni Chilton, and the rest of the extended Stone family. A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday July 23, 2021, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 324 West Bridge Avenue. All memorial donations can be made to the Blackwell Wrestling Club.
