Bruce A. Stalbaum

Bruce Allen Stalbaum, 60, of Billings, Oklahoma, died Thursday, August 12, 2021. Bruce was born on August 30, 1960, in Hammond, Indiana. He was the son of Howard “John” Stalbaum and Marjorie J. (Peregrine) Stalbaum-Lagestee. Bruce graduated from Kankakee Valley High School. He was a self-employed home maintenance contractor.

Bruce grew up in rural San Pierre, Indiana and surrounding areas. In early adulthood he moved to California. Following several years there, Bruce moved to Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father Edward Lagestee, Sr., his brother Brian Stalbaum, and four grandchildren – Katie, Kyle, Keyannah, and Kaden Garza.

Survivors include one daughter, Connie (Joel) Garza of Ponca City, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Kyleigh Garza of Ponca City; three siblings -- the Rev. Brenda Stalbaum Martin (the Rev. Gary Martin) of Des Moines, Iowa, John Stalbaum of Traverse City, Michigan, and Jason Stalbaum of Newaygo, Michigan; one nephew, Tyler Stalbaum of Newaygo; two nieces, Kimberly (Joe) Gilbert of West Lafayette, Indiana and Lex Stalbaum of Newaygo; and a large network of friends and extended family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Kay Electric Cooperative in the K Room, 300 West Doolin, Blackwell, Oklahoma with the Rev. Gary Martin officiating. Interment will follow at a later date in Indiana.
