Sylvia Ann Mason (Fleming)

In remembrance of Sylvia Ann Mason (Fleming) who went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, 09-12-2020. She was born in Blackwell, OK on March 17, 1935 to James Russell and Opal Lucille Fleming (Staten) where she attend the Blackwell Schools and married the love of her life, Bobby Gene Mason (Welkner) in 1955.

Their only child was born 2 years later. Sylvia held several jobs over her lifetime including working at Paul’s Grill, Town & Country Market, SW Corset, Fey’s IGA, Best Yet Grocery, Luv’s, Walmart until she retired from Target. She lived in Georgia for a few years while her grandchildren were young and taught the boys how to swim. She and Bobby then moved to Tulsa for a few years where she worked at Target. Later she moved to Blackwell where she bought a home and attended the First Baptist Church and taught Sunday School. Sylvia loved art and was a graduate of East Central University’s Art Program.

She loved sewing of all kinds and was an active member of the ladies quilting club making quilts for families that were victims of fires. Sylvia also made quilts and other items that she won ribbons for upon entering them in the Kay County Free Fair. Sylvia loved her family, community, church and friends and will be missed by many. Sylvia was proceeded in death by Bobby and her parents. She is survived by her daughter Sherry Trantham of Georgia, three grandchildren, a great grandson, two brothers, two sisters, several nieces and nephews and cousins. Her little dog Pepper has gone to live with her cousin Darlene and her pack of well loved pups
