Dayle: When one business closes, another opens

by Dayle McGaha

O P E N I N G STATEMENT: Ahh – Christmas!! It comes just once a year but should not be taken lightly!

The idea of Christmas, whether you think is old-fashioned, or modern, is really very simple. That is by loving others the best way you can!

Read on: Isn’t it nice to see all the good things that come about because of Christmas? (And I mean not just the material things, but the actions of good-hearted people!)

PROVERBS 4-12: “Hear my son, and receive my sayings, and the years of your life will be many.”

DAYLE-VERB: You can do a lot of good by helping a friend get through a tuff situation – a phone call might be a good way to start!

POSITIVE POINT: Optimism that leads to faith – faith leads to confidence. It is good to develop both! NOTABLE QUOTE: “My dream is of a place and a time where America will once again be seen as the last hope of Earth”. (Abe Lincoln)

WISE WARNING: Do not go where the pathway leads, go instead where there is no path and lead a trail. (Ralph Waldo Emerson)

CHRISTMAS CHEER: Give a gift that can be felt by the heart – not one because it is expensive!

LIVE AND LEARN: We’ve learned that old age is not just a defeat, but a real victory with a privilege.

WISE WORDS: Can we pay too much attention to progress and not enough on maintenance?

CLOSING COMMENT:

Some of us are concerned about the number of good businesses that have closed. Let us remember the old saying, when one door of happiness closes, another opens. Let us not look at the closed doors that we can’t see the new ones that have opened for us. Let us enjoy the resources that are within our reach. Congratulations to the two new businesses that have opened in our fair city.

P.S. Don’t forget, always check on our elderly, live alones or those in need. Brighten someone’s Christmas this year!
