New pizza buffet opens in Blackwell
Cicarella Pizza, the brainchild of a Blackwell local and her husband, has officially opened on Doolin Avenue.
Cicarella, housed across from Walmart in the former Dragon Palace Chinese Buffett building, had a “soft” opening in December. City of Blackwell employees and a select few others attended. The full opening was Jan. 17. A number of guests got to experience the salad and pizza bar and order from the comprehensive menu.
Katee and Tony Nemer, who also own the local Golden Chick, started the restaurant.
The eatery’s main selling point, its buffet, is open daily. The Monday-through-Friday lunch buffet is priced at $8.99, and the dinner buffet costs $9.99. The buffet costs $4.99 for children ages 3 to 6 and $5.99 for children ages 6 to 10.
The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and can be reached by calling 580-262-5021.
The Italian eatery is currently offering dine-in and carry-out, but owners will unveil their plans for delivery soon, according to the restaurant’s official Facebook page.
Cicarella’s menu includes calzones, strombolis and salads. It has appetizers, including breadsticks, cheese bread and bone-in and boneless wings. The restaurant also offers gyros, pastas and sweets such as dessert pizza and cinnamon stromboli.
Cicarella carries Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Mountain Drew, Sierra Mist, Dr. Pepper, root beer, lemonade and teas.
Cicarella offers specialty pizzas, including favorites such as bacon cheeseburger, chicken bacon ranch, taco pizza, Hawaiian, veggie and meat lovers. It also has more adventurous creations like the “Supreme Daddio,” which come with pepperoni, beef, sausage, onion, green bell peppers, black olives, mushrooms and two layers of mozzarella cheese. Another is the “BBP,” which comes with bacon, pepperoni, sausage, jalapeno peppers and two cheeses.
For those craving a more Mediterranean zest, Cicarella offers pizzas like the “Greek Mama,” which will be brushed with olive oil and topped with kalamata olives, roasted red peppers, baby spinach and feta cheese. Another is the “Gyro Pizza,” which is, as the name implies, a deconstructed gyro on a pizza.
Other offerings include a chicken fajita pizza, chicken alfredo, spinach alfredo, cheesy stuffed-crust pizza, classic cheese, buffalo chicken, barbecue chicken and more.
