Blackwell prepares for Homecoming 2022: Hotels, parades, and more.
Blackwell’s Homecoming, an event unto itself, currently is set for the weekend of Sept. 30 for graduating classes that end in ‘2’ and ‘7.’
This year, Blackwell is hoping to bring back the morning "alumni coffee" at the Blackwell High School Study Center or, depending on the status of the ongoing construction work, at an off-site location to be determiend. The parade is likely to take place during the afternoon of Sept. 30.
The Top of Oklahoma Museum on Main Street, a frequent stop for Blackwell visitors, is planning to honor the prominent returning classes with specially organized displays, Museum Director Melissa Hudson said.
More specifically, museum officials are excited to show off the museum’s completely remodeled school room honoring Blackwell Public Schools’ legacy.
The museum has extensively modernized other exhibits, which now feature glass cases, new carpet, new lights and other improvements.
As usual, Blackwell’s hotels are preparing for the influx of guests coming to town to see friends, family and classmates by offering various special rates and discounts.
