Ricky Ray Moore

Ricky Ray Moore had a strong sense of humor, and he never shied away from an argument with his siblings.

After 58 years of laughs, he died in Oklahoma City on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022. Moore was born in Blackwell on Oct. 10, 1964, and he lived a quiet life. He didn’t like much attention, though he enjoyed playing baseball and fishing when he was a boy. He attended Blackwell Public Schools, graduating in 1982.

Even though he and his siblings often grumbled at one another, his friends and family will remember him best for his big heart. He had a smile that could light up the room. His mother dearly loved him, and so do many others. Moore is survived by two daughters, Jenni and Ashley; two brothers, Darin Moore and Steve Moore; one sister, Kristi Moore; his mother, Jackie Cowen; and a host of friends and cousins.

No formal funeral services are planned, and family members will hold a private memorial at a later date.
