Carolyn Sue Schodde

On July 27, 2022, Carolyn Sue Schodde, of Lago Vista, Texas, was called home to Our Heavenly Father.

She passed peacefully in her sleep after a courageous battle with various health conditions.

She was surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born on February 24th, 1939 in Blackwell, Oklahoma, Carolyn was the loving daughter of Floyd and Velma Bumgardner (both predeceased), and Sister to Dale (predeceased), Wayne (predeceased), Richard (predeceased), Robert (predeceased), Clarice, (predeceased) and Dorothy (predeceased). Carolyn grew up in Blackwell and Braman Oklahoma where she was a stand-out basketball player.

Shortly after high school she met the love of her life, Kenneth Schodde. They were married for 60 wonderful years before his passing in 2019.

Their life journey took them from Kansas to Ohio and then to Texas. In addition to raising a family along the way, she served as an Executive Assistant for over 20 years for Dresser Industries in Houston and then for Manitex, Inc. in Georgetown, Texas.

She and Ken moved to Lago Vista, Texas upon retirement in 1998. Carolyn was active in the local community through her involvement with Lakeside Christian Fellowship, various social clubs, bridge groups and more.

Her favorite pastimes were decorating, cooking and being around family. Carolyn is survived by her children Karen and husband Richard, Eric, Kelley and husband Mike along with many nieces and nephews. Donations may be made in her honor to The Texas Oncology Foundation.
