Gospel music concert to be held this weekend
A local church is hosting a Gospel music concert Friday and Saturday to benefit a Christmas program for Blackwell children.
The House of Prayer’s Christmas for Kids Community Gospel Singing event will take place in the Blackwell Fairgrounds Event Center starting Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m. Ending times are flexible, and the public is invited to attend.
Admission to the event is free both days, and donations will be accepted. Concessions will be available. All proceeds will benefit the Blackwell Fire Department’s annual Christmas toy giveaway program for children in need.
Nellie Jack, wife of House of Prayer Pastor John Jack, said several musical groups are scheduled to perform, including: Restored, Waves of Glory, Cross Country, Kinnie Caughman, the Singing Bones, the Gospel Jubilee Band, Rhythm Country Ministries, Keith and Candy Holt, Richard Epperson and Leonard and Marina Pohl, and the Victorymen Quartet.
“Come enjoy some fellowship and good music,” Nellie Jack said. “We’d just like to invite everybody to come and be blessed.”
