Blackwell Chamber Banquet set for February 9

The Blackwell Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the dates for its annual Chamber Banquet and Awards Celebration. This year’s banquet will be Feb. 9 at the Blackwell Event Center at 6:30 p.m. with entertainment from the Dueling Pianos by HiFi Production. Last year, the banquet honored City Manager Jerry Wieland as the Citizen of the Year and Los Potros as the Business of the Year for 2021 as well as 2020. The 2020 award was presented because the banquet was canceled during the pandemic year. Also given during 2022’s banquet was the “I Am Blackwell Award,” which went to Blackwell Public Schools Superintendent Shawn Haskins for his work on the bond passage for the Blackwell High School campus. The Dueling Pianos entertainers were last seen at the Chamber’s 2019 banquet. Blackwell Dentistry is sponsoring the entertainment for 2023. Tickets for the event are expected to go on sale soon, with more information available on the Chamber’s Facebook page.
