Myrna LoKiel (Oldham) King, a resident of Huntington Beach, California, went to be with her Lord on April 19, 2023 at the age of 84. She was born on August 16, 1938 to Henry and Thelma Oldham at their home on a farm north of Braman, Oklahoma. She was raised in Blackwell, Oklahoma, where she attended school, graduating from Blackwell High School as valedictorian in 1956. She went to Central Christian College in Bartlesville, Oklahoma from 1956 to 1958, then to Abilene Christian College in Abilene, Texas from 1958 to 1960, graduating with a BS in Business Education. It was there she met Jim King whom she married in 1964. They made their home in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and then in 1985 she moved with her family to California, where she enjoyed the southern California weather. By profession, she did general accounting, starting with being a bookkeeper for her father at Oldham Motor & Implement Company in her hometown of Blackwell. Later, she was an accountant for VIP Transport in Corona, California. But by passion, she was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and a genuine Christian woman instilling in her family lifelong values of love, respect, truth, “sticktoitiveness” and wonderment of nature. Her home was always welcoming to her family and friends where they enjoyed regular weekend gatherings and Sunday lunches and dinners. She was also a doting grandmother who babysat and chauffeured the grandkids to many school events, appointments, and meet-ups. She also loved and cared for various family pets, dogs and cats over the years. Her parents and her brother, Albert Arlen Oldham, preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of over 58 years, Jim King; one sister, Thais Janda of Chandler, Arizona; one brother, Dexter Oldham of Blackwell, Oklahoma; two daughters, Laura of Fullerton, California and Tonya of Toluca Lake, California; and one son, Bart King of Huntington Beach, California. She also leaves a legacy of four grandchildren. A “Celebration of Life” service will be held at Costa Mesa Church of Christ in Costa Mesa, California on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 1:00 PM.
