Janie McAlister

Janie McAlister, born March 17, 1947, daughter of Bennett B. (Ransom) McAlister and George Vest McAlister.

Janie grew up in Blackwell, OK. She was a graduate of the Class of 1965 and proud of the relationships and support that existed from those friends. After graduation she went to Cosmetology school and was a talented Stylist. Janie was also a very talented Artist of many different types. Paintings, oils, charcoal, sewing and many others. She loved being around people. She also enjoyed being a St. Patrick’s day baby and celebrating it yearly. In her retirement she enjoyed her membership at the YMCA , visiting her sisters and being a part of the Prior Lake VFW. After working in Blackwell for some time she moved to Okla City until 1974 where she moved to Minnesota and retired from Rosemont Aerospace. She came home briefly to help care of her father before returning to Prior Lake Minnesota

She is preceded in death by her parents; as well as her sister, Teresa Appleman and niece, Ransom Appleman.

She is survived by her partner, David Tousignant; sisters, Georgia Peterson (Royce), Georgette McAlister; her nephew, Boomer Appleman (Andrea) and great- nephew, Vaughn Appleman.
