Betty L (Harris) Lawson

Betty L Lawson was born December 14, 1941, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas to Hershel Fredrick and Viola Ruby (Jackson) Harris, and passed away at her home surrounded by her family on November 5th, 2023.

In 1945 the family moved to Blackwell Oklahoma where “Fred” began working at the Blackwell Zinc Smelter. Betty attended Blackwell Public Schools, graduating in 1959. After graduation, Betty joined the United States Air Force where she met the love of her life, Larry (Lonnie) Gene Lawson and they were married in Blackwell on November 5th, 1960, and made their home in Carbon, Indiana. Betty sold her home in Indiana and returned to Blackwell in 2014 to be closer to her family.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

She is survived by her son, Charles Lawson of Little Rock, Arkansas, two granddaughters Cierra Lawson and Melissa (Jeromy) Clites, two great granddaughters, Ellie and Amery, two sisters, Rita Silvers and Kris (Steve) Wayman, and several nieces and nephews.

A family graveside service will be held in Indiana. (Date and time to be determined)
