Tonkawa Film Festival scheduled for April 20
The Tonkawa Film Festival is gearing up to celebrate its 5th year with several exciting activities. In addition to their screenings on Friday and Saturday evenings, they have also added a family-friendly screening on Apr 20th at 2:30 PM at Wilkin Hall.
A big highlight of the film festival is its one-of-a-kind film festival parade which features visiting
filmmakers from across the United States.
This year’s parade will include a 1917 Packard from the film “Killers of the Flower Moon” and special guests world renowned hoop dancer Eric Michael Hernandez and Season 1 winner of Gordan Ramsay’s Next Level Chef, indigenous chef Pyet DeSpain. Following the parade, everyone will be treated to a post-parade celebration at the Heart in the Park for a performance by Eric Michael Hernandez.
The parade also includes cash prizes for film-themed entries provided by First National Bank of Oklahoma –Tonkawa.
This year’s festival will highlight 48 selected short films from various genres and from
filmmakers from around the world. A list of the selected films is available to view at the festival’s website. Tickets are on sale and can be purchased through the website or in person. Tickets are $12/night or $20 for both nights.
