CINCO DE MAYO celebration set for this Saturday in Blackwell

Blackwell Tourism is excited to host the second year of their Cinco de Mayo celebration at the Blackwell Fairgrounds next weekend, Saturday May 4.

The festival will be held from 6 pm - 10 pm at the Livestock Pavilion.

Cinco de Mayo will feature food trucks, games, and a DJ in the form of the renowned Teo Arellano Garcia.

Tacos El Sauz and The Smokehouse Grill. are two of the local food vendors that will be set up at the festival.

There will also be merchandise vendors and a cornhole tournament hosted by Twisted Rhino Cornhole at $50 a team, according to Blackwell Tourism.

The cornhole tournament and preregistration is preferred. Register by downloading the app Scoreholio, check in will be at 5pm.

“It’s going to be bigger and even better than last year”, according to board president Kim Shoffner.

“VJ Teo Garcia is the DJ for the event. He promises lights, sound, music and a spectacular surprise for the kids”, Shoffner added.

RN Quilt’n LLC will be at the event printing the official t-shirts and this year they are taking pre-orders. They are located at 120 N Main Street.
