Blackwell Chamber accepting nominations for July 4 Parade Marshal

The Blackwell Area Chamber of Commerce announced times and details for the upcoming 4th of July celebration in Blackwell which will be held Thursday, July 4, 2024.

The Chamber also, for the first time, has opened nominations for the 4th of July Parade Marshal.

Nominations can be made by calling the Chamber at 580-363-4195 or visiting their office at 120 S. Main

The downtown parade will begin at 10 a.m. with the lineup starting at 9:30 a.m. at the Farmer’s CoOp on Main Street.

The decorated bike and wagon contest will be held at 9:45 a.m, sponsored by Blackwell Tourism. Entries for the parade can be made by calling the Chamber at 580-363-4195 or via e-mail at coordinator@blackwellchamber.org As usual, the parade will go down Main to the Fairgrounds.

After the parade, there will be a free swim at the Blackwell Memorial Pool at 1 p.m.

At dusk, the annual fireworks show will begin at the conclusion of the Blackwell Flycatchers game. Those in attendance at Morgan Field to watch the Flycatchers will have some of the best seats in the house, according to the Chamber of Commerce.
