Car show set for Saturday: vendors, food, family fun

September 25, 2024

This Saturday, September 28, Hillcrest Manor at 1210 S 6th Street will be hosting the “Back to School Bash” Car Show and Family Fun day from 1 pm - 7 pm with vendors, games, food trucks, a foam party, classic cars, and fun for all ages.

The event is free to the public. Vendors and car entries are also free. Those interested in bringing their car or setting up a booth are encouraged to contact Ryan Hillhouse at 580-670-4673.

Donations are welcomed with proceeds going towards Hillcrest Manor to benefit activities for the residents as well as prizes for bingo.

Hillcrest Manor’s Director of Activities Ryan Hillhouse welcomes all, especially those looking to spend some time with the family between Homecoming Weekend activities.

“This is a way for us to bring the fun to the residents here at Hillcrest Manor,” said Hillhouse, “they love to see all the people and they love to see these classic cars and see what all the vendors bring.”
There will be cars spread across the Manor grounds along with several activities for kids including a petting zoo by Lost Safari in Stillwater featuring a baby kangaroo.

Kids can also participate in a decorated bike show contest.

“We want to really bring the community in, of course,” said Hillhouse, “and we want to make sure our residents have a fun time. We had a blind resident at the last car show- he loved cars, of course. They brought him out and let him touch the car, let him ‘see’ it with his hands, and they would start it and let him feel it. He loved that, and it meant a lot to us that he got to experience that.”
