Blackwell 4-H and FFA set Trophy Auction for Jan 15
January 08, 2025
The Blackwell 4-H and FFA Ag Boosters are kicking off the new year with their highly anticipated annual Trophy Auction and meal, scheduled for January 15, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the Blackwell Event Center. The event serves as a crucial fundraiser to support local youth involved in 4-H and FFA livestock projects.
These programs provide young participants with invaluable life skills, including responsibility, accountability, animal husbandry, and resilience, as they raise, feed, and train animals to compete in livestock shows across the state. Through these experiences, youth not only grow personally but also develop into future civic and community leaders.
As the cost of supplies, veterinary care, feed, travel, and entry fees continues to rise, families face increasing financial challenges to keep their children engaged in these programs. The Trophy Auction helps alleviate these burdens by providing much-needed financial support to participating families.
The evening will feature a meal, which is provided to all attendees. While RSVPs are appreciated, they are not required.
"We understand this is a busy time of year, and calendars fill up quickly," said Amy Smith, president of the Blackwell Ag Boosters. "We hope you can find time to join us and support these amazing young people. If you’re unable to attend but would like to contribute, donations of any size are always welcome."
The Blackwell Ag Boosters extend their gratitude to the community for its continued generosity and support. For more information or to make a donation, contact Amy Smith at 918-706-0703 or via email at bgsmith258@hotmail.com.
Mark your calendars and join the Blackwell community in supporting these hardworking youth at this special event.
A healthy Kay County requires great community news.
