Ronnie D. Corn

Ronnie D. Corn, 85, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home on December 29, 2024.

Ronnie D. Corn was born on May7, 1939, in Proctor, Oklahoma, to Cecil “Jack” and Emma Corn. The family soon moved to Blackwell where Ronnie grew up and graduated from Blackwell High School. Ronnie always considered Blackwell home. 
He entered the United States Navy in 1957 and served until his honorable discharge in 1965. He worked as a jet mechanic on the aircraft carriers, USS Bonhomme Richard, USS Hancock, and the USS Kitty Hawk. He was stationed out of North Island, San Diego, California. Shortly after joining the Navy he married Darleen Fleming and they had three children, Ronald, Lisa and Mike.
Though their marriage of thirty-four years wasn’t permanent, they remained friends for life. 
Following his discharge from the Navy, he moved his family to Blackwell where he worked as a milkman. In the late 1960’s the family moved to Tulsa where he worked building aircraft for American Rockwell. In the early 1970’s he began working for the Reynolds French Company serving on the maintenance crew that worked on large engines for power plants. After ten years, he became a sales representative for the company and traveled to power plants across the United States. Ronnie retired after forty years of service.
After retirement he loved to ride his motorcycle, watch westerns, read books and travel. Along with his companion of thirty years, Ruth Nelson, they loved to travel to various part of the country, including Alaska and Canada. 
He was a member of the Broken Arrow Masonic Lodge where he was a 32nd Degree Mason.
Ronnie is survived by companion, Ruth Ann Nelson of Broken Arrow; her four children, Dawn Aaron and husband Doug of Stillwater, Mike Nelson and wife Charity of Broken Arrow, Vince Nelson of Idaho; and Scott Nelson and wife Casey of Broken Arrow; Ronnie’s children, Ronald Corn and wife Vicky of Kirkland, Oklahoma, James Corn and wife Vicki of Seneca, Missouri; son-in-law, Steve Davidson of Enid; sister-in-law, Gay Corn of Burleson, Texas; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Virgil and Jerry Corn; a daughter, Lisa Corn Davidson; and a grandson, Devin “Kyle” Corn. 
Services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Saturday, January 18th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Cliff Johnson of The Tabernacle officiating. Cremation will occur after the service with burial to be this spring.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on the morning of January 18th at the funeral home.
