REAL ID deadline approaching for Oklahomans: Where to get yours
April 11, 2025

With the May 7, 2025, federal REAL ID deadline approaching, Service Oklahoma is expanding access to ensure more Oklahomans have the time they need to secure their REAL ID. Beginning Monday, April 7, select Service Oklahoma locations will offer REAL ID Mondays and Wednesdays – by appointment only – from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. through the end of the year.
These evening REAL ID appointments add hundreds of new scheduling opportunities each week, providing greater flexibility for those who are unable to visit during traditional business hours. By extending service into the evening, Service Oklahoma is expanding access, helping balance appointment volume throughout the week and making it easier for Oklahomans to get their REAL ID. While locations are concentrated in metro and surrounding areas to address the highest demand, the added capacity is expected to benefit tens of thousands of people across the state.
Locally, Real IDs can be obtained at Brown's Tag Agency which is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The agency is also open the first Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Customers do not need to make an appointment. The agency can be reached via phone by calling 580-363-1135.

“We know life doesn’t always fit into a 9-to-5 schedule,” said Diedra O’Neil, Chief Strategy & Operating Officer at Service Oklahoma. “These extended hours are about making essential services more accessible and supporting Oklahomans in a way that works for them. Whether it’s a parent juggling after-school pickups, someone who can’t get away during the workweek or anyone whose weekends are already full, we’re focused on helping Oklahomans get their REAL ID at a time that fits their schedule.”

Tips to Prepare for a REAL ID Appointment
Service Oklahoma has streamlined the REAL ID process to make it as efficient and accessible as possible. With the right preparation, most visits take less than 20 minutes once with an examiner. Oklahomans are encouraged to plan ahead and apply early to avoid potential travel disruptions as the federal May 7, 2025, REAL ID deadline approaches.
To ensure a smooth visit:
Use the personalized REAL ID Checklist to confirm you have the required documents to apply.
Check live wait times to find a nearby location with the shortest current wait.
No appointment? No problem. Use the same-day waitlist to get in line at any time without a scheduled appointment.
Plan ahead for air travel. A temporary paper ID is issued upon approval, but it cannot be used for air travel. The permanent REAL ID is typically received within 10–14 business days.
REAL ID Deadline: May 7, 2025
A REAL ID-compliant driver license or identification card — or another federally accepted form of identification, such as a passport — may be required to fly domestically and access federal buildings and military bases beginning May 7, 2025. While a REAL ID is not required for driving or for identification within the state of Oklahoma, it may be necessary for those who plan to travel.
To date, over 2.1 million REAL IDs have been issued in Oklahoma. While not every Oklahoman will need or choose to obtain one, Service Oklahoma is committed to ensuring those who plan to fly without a passport have every opportunity to get a REAL ID ahead of their travel plans.
