Blackwell Public Library to Host Summer Food Box Program for Children

May 20, 2026

The Blackwell Public Library is partnering with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and Hunger Free Oklahoma to provide free food boxes to local families this summer through the library’s Food Box Program.
The program will run every Wednesday from June 6 through July 29 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the library, located at 123 W. Padon Ave.
According to program information, food boxes will be available for children ages 18 and younger, with one box provided per child while supplies last. Parents or guardians will be responsible for picking up the boxes through a drive-through distribution process at the library.
Library officials say the partnership is aimed at helping support families during the summer months when school meal programs may not be available.
The initiative is part of a broader effort by the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and Hunger Free Oklahoma to combat food insecurity and provide healthy food options to communities across the state.
Community members seeking additional information about the program may contact the Blackwell Public Library at 580-363-1809.
