Vendor Applications Now Being Accepted for 109th Annual Kay County Free Fair

Organizers of the 109th Annual Kay County Free Fair are now accepting vendor applications as preparations begin for one of the county's longest-running traditions.

This year's fair, themed "Stars, Stripes & County Nights," will welcome food vendors, nonprofit organizations and merchandise vendors to the annual event, which is scheduled for September at the Kay County Fairgrounds in Blackwell.

The deadline to submit vendor applications is July 15.

Vendor opportunities are available in several categories. Week-long food vendor spaces are available for $450, while nonprofit food service vendors and general merchandise vendors may participate for $150. Non-food vendors wishing to participate only during the final three days of the fair — Friday, Saturday and Sunday — may reserve a space for $100.

Fair officials encourage returning vendors as well as first-time participants to reserve their spaces early.

"September will be here before we know it, and preparations are already underway for the 109th Annual Kay County Free Fair," organizers said in announcing this year's vendor registration. "Whether you're serving up fair favorites, representing a nonprofit, or showcasing your merchandise, we'd love to have you join us for one of Oklahoma's greatest traditions."

The Kay County Free Fair has been a community tradition for more than a century, bringing together agricultural exhibits, livestock shows, entertainment, commercial vendors, food and family activities while celebrating the heritage and spirit of Kay County.

Businesses, organizations and food vendors interested in participating may request an application and reserve a booth by contacting Fair Vendor Coordinator Denise Hindman at 580-363-8517.

Organizers encourage prospective vendors not to wait until the last minute, noting that vendor spaces are limited and applications must be received by July 15.

The 109th Annual Kay County Free Fair will celebrate this year's patriotic theme, "Stars, Stripes & County Nights," as the community gathers once again to enjoy one of Blackwell's signature annual events.
