Arthur Leroy Henrichs

Arthur Leroy Henrichs of Deer Creek, OK passed away at 76, unexpectedly on Monday, May 22. Arthur was known to show up early to make coffee for the employees at Walmart working with him. When he did not show up and no coffee was made someone noticed his car in the parking lot. An Ambulance was called immediately. Arthur was born in 1947 in Lamont, OK. He attended his first few years of school in Blackwell Public Schools. He finished his schooling by graduating from Derby High School in Derby, Kansas in 1965. After graduating from high school, Arthur joined the U.S. Navy. Arthur served the Navy in Vietnam more than once and completed his four years of service. He continued to serve by being in the Navy Reserves. He has over 25 years of military service. After serving four years full-time he left the Navy and later served full-time again. After his years in the service Arthur earned an Associate-Degree in Business from Northern Oklahoma College in 1973. Arthur worked for the Tyson Meat Packing Co. in Ponca City and the Blackwell Foundry. The last 16 years he has worked for Walmart in Blackwell. Arthur was married to Kathy Hicks in the 1970’s. They had two children; Aaron Henrichs and Amber Henrichs Hicks. Later they divorced. Arthur is survived by his son Aaron Henrichs and his wife Shawna and a daughter, Amber Henrichs Hicks. He is also survived by his grandson, Dawson Tyler Henrichs and granddaughter, Kylee Fergeson and her husband Blane. He will also be missed by 3 great grandchildren. Barrett Starkey, Braleigh Fergeson, and Bentley Fergeson. Arthur had a tradition of making waffles for his great grandchildren during holidays. Heis also survived by four sisters: Evalee Holzboog and her husband Dale of Ephrata, WA, Celeata McClearyof Oklahoma City, HeatherDawn of Yelm, WA and Leola Henrichs of Bakersfield, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Eva Henrichs. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Hudson Owen Henrichs, brother-in-law, RonaldG.McCleary, nephews: Michael Glenn McCleary and Don Michael Holzboog. Arthur’s family would like the Walmart Employees to be honorary Pall bears for his service. The family wants to give the employees a heartfelt thanks for their quick action by calling an ambulance when Arthur needed them the most. Cards can be sent to Kylee Fergeson and the family at 902 S. Second, Blackwell, OK. Service will be at Nardin Church at 11:00 on Saturday June 10, 2023. At 10:30 the dedication of the ground at the Nardin Cemetery will be for family only. Dinner will be after the Service in the Church.
