Letter to the Editor: Sue Garwood by Dianne Braden

Dear Editor,
By their deeds, you shall know them. Mathew 7:16
By her deeds, you indeed know what kind of very special woman Sue Garwood was. Sue died recently, and Blackwell lost a volunteer extraordinaire.
By her deeds with her family, at her church, at the Top of Oklahoma Museum and helping to feed those in need, you indeed knew her.
There was such depth to Sue. She brought a wide world view to everything with a calm intelligence. It seemed that she worked to stay in the background. However that strength and in sight could not be hidden.
As Secretary of the board of the Top of Oklahoma Museum, she listened avidly to all the discussion and reported with precision. She was so supportive of a board who sought to drag the museum into the twentieth-first century. Her comments were often understated but landed with the power of a hammer.
It was an honor to know Sue and a pleasure to work with her. Thank you for showing me your mind and your heart.
