David Leon Marshall, 84, of Blackwell, OK, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. He was

born January 11, 1939 in Los Angeles, California, the son of Everett and Faye (Gibson) Marshall.

David served our country in the U.S. Naval Reserve and the U.S. Air Force as a jet engine

mechanic.

He married Opal Layton on March 20, 1960. They had four children- Cory, David Blake, Todd,

and Evette. During their life together, they lived in California, Colorado, and Oklahoma, finally settling in

his life. He also served as the president of the local Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship for a time. He

was even able to combine his love of racing and ministry-being the driver of “Team Jesus” sprint car.

able to enjoy racing and sharing the love of Jesus with the other race teams and fans.

When he wasn’t working or racing he enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved and was
